Umm, what?

Okay, I'm not going to make any big proclamations without seeing what actually happens, but I have to say that part of what makes Criminal Minds so special is the diverse cast and how the women are treated. If JJ is gone and Emily is only around so often and only the guys + Garcia are regulars, that changes a lot of the show. There wouldn't be any recurring women who go out on the field. This move, coupled with the recent season's unevenness, makes me worried for the show. I didn't love the spin-off but I was giving it time to grow but if CM is going in another direction and shedding what made it stand out among other criminal procedures, then I don't think I can stick around for that. I hope my worries are unfounded. I really do.

plus I really hope this is all not true.....because while I missed this last season CM always gives me hope that crime drama's can have a balanced cast(or closely balanced cast(

I love CM for having a rather balanced cast and never dehumanizing the victims nor the unsubs and for having great messages. Admittedly, the earlier episodes are some of my favorites but I'm loyal to this show because it's one of the last serious procedurals that I watch, but this makes me worried. If you had to lose some of the cast, why are only two of the women considered expendable. I really believe having a women out on the field is important, but also, I guess they'd get cheaper new actresses to pick up JJ's role? IDK :(

I hope it's misdirection too.
