The plan was to not do anything extra until I get some headway with the yuletide. So far I have:

Seen Frozen: good but I think I let all the talk about it made me have higher expectation, or also I was expecting more winter weaponry than I got. The sister relationship was ace but the setup made me frown a lot because there were parts I just wanted to pause and interrogate the writers.

Started watching Atlantis: cheesy show on BBCA that could easily be on Syfy. The lead is generically, charming handsome with a penchant for getting into trouble but based on good intentions. There is already a love interest but it's an easy show to have in the background--the bad CGI is even a bit charming. Also, Mark Addy (King Robert from Game of Thrones) is Hercules and there is some comedy examining the 'man' vs 'the myth' and how legends grow that is in the background. What I really wish is that actor crossovers were more popular so I could read GOT characters as pantheon gods with all the bastardized mythology.

Written ONE sentence for Yultide.

Fake sobbed at my computer at everything.

On the laptop front I ended up buying a laptop cooling pad and so far so good; I've been able to stream not without an issue and I have played Sims Medieval without it going into hibernation mode.

So Sims Medieval: I do enjoy it but it is much more quest oriented than I care for. The way I play the Sims is to kind of dither about, make a cheap place, get work but it's not as directed as the Medieval game is. Also, the tutorial is soooo long. The plus side is I only paid $5 for it so even though I'm not mad for it, I didn't pay full price.

Yuletide: Who is doing it? Do you know what your nominating? I'm pretty sure I will be doing it. Last year was a success and it was nice being able to write to a deadline; and I'm even getting kudos on it still and the fandom is very small.

In the past three days my laptop has gotten really hot, then went into sleep mode. When it restarts (after like a 2 minute gap where it seems to be turned off) it goes back to where it was with no major issue. Al the times it has done this I have been doing heavy things like streaming live events (US OPEN!!!) or playing Sims Medieval (a new experience, more on that later). Does this sound like the beginning of the end for the laptop? Just an overheating issue?

I do not mind getting another laptop but I really wanted to wait until the specs for the Sims 4 come out but I really need a reliable laptop and if the problem only gets worse I can't just use the tablet...or maybe I could.
