Panic at the Disco made NPR's Listener Picks for Best CDs so far of 2008!

I'm just excited for them because they are growing musically and (sort of ) being taken more seriously. Sure we could think about how serious should anyone really take PATD? I love them; but they are ridiculous. Seriously, I'm just pleased that they made NPR's list, and maybe some people will hear the album who otherwise would not have given their music a chance. The song NPR is streaming is 'When the Day Met the Night'; I would have picked 'Northern Downpour' but I just love that song to the extreme.

Speaking of bands I want to go far: EMPIRES!!!

Yay! for Empires going on a small tour. (I am light green with envy to all those who can actually go--EMPIRES you have a fan in Florida who would freak out and let you stay in her place--yeah my one tiny room..but I'd feed you well ; 0) (If only one of you can stay, then Alfred the Hot Bassist I would totally cook for you!--*ok back to me sounding sensible*

I want Empires to blow up this year. I want to hear their single on the radio--washed up medium that it is--and I want them talking to Steven on Fuse. I really enjoy Howl and I feel like they released an excellent album that needs more attention. Am I missing the Empires Love? Do you guys hear stuff about them beyond fandom? There is no music video yet is there? They could probably go the performance route while performing 'I Want Blood' because I could just imagine how intense they would look while doing that song. I would need close ups on Ryan the Hot Drummer and Alfred the Hot Bassist umm...and Sean and Tom and just the entire band; but definitely the bass and drums.

*I find my love for bassists and drummers hard because they don't usually get their pictures taken ;(--Spencer Smith why do you hide from the camera during concerts?
