wishfulclicking: man in black and white pulling back a curtain to show moving sky (shocked)

Still feel kind of sick, but whatever.

Lately, I've been constantly playing The (After) Life of the Party; it's definitely a song that grew on me, it was so not one of my favorites from IOH.

I'm still kind of bored which is funny because I do have things (both IRL and Online) that I need to do. Procrastination is my friend.

Fandom: I love it, I miss it, sometimes I loathe it.* For a while now (it feels like forever but I know that's the hyper speed of internet time relativity talking) I've been out of sync with fic. At first it was of my own will to get started with Big Bang and other online things, then my laptop decided it liked when I flipped out, so it died. I've had moments of reading because I can not resist foxxcub's stuff, it is true: I am weak. So I think tonight I'm going to catch up on the thing that pulled me into this wonderful fandom in the beginning--fic. Anything you guys have read lately that was just wonderful? Please nothing insanely long (30K), well link me to it, but if you have anything kind of able-to-be-read-in-one-go without feeling like I spent an enormous amount of time online, that'd be wonderful.

Though I have fallen off of reading fic, my real life endeavors with fiction have increased. Currently A Handbook of American Prayer by Lucius Shepard has my attention and I like it. It feels engaging while somewhat distant simultaneously. The whole concept of the novel is that this guy, Wardlin Stuart, is sent to jail for murder and while in jail he 'discovers' the power of prayer--not to an established God, but more like the power of focusing one's energy on a desired outcome. This leads to him becoming a sort of modern shaman from the prison and a celebrity when he publishes a book. Sounds interesting right?

Because I am a creature of habit, I started thinking how would this go as fic? My mind first went to an MCR place with Gerard being the one sent to jail and then finding a renewed purpose; but then I started thinking how the main character reminds me a little of Bob too---and I never say no to Bob in fic.

But really, I wouldn't care which band was featured, I would read that fic anyways.

Another book I would love see someone do is A Long Way Down by Nick Hornby. Hmmm....
