Spring 2011? Damn, that's way too long. I didn't really like the book, but I'm curious about the adaptation.

The first one was a nice change from all the Robert Jordan I had been reading, but the most recent book and the extremely long wait for another book in the series has seriously dampened my enthusiasm for the series.

Spring 2011 is a long time to wait.

I'm still way too excited about Sean Bean as Ned Stark. Way. Too. Excited.

I am honestly more excited for this show than I am for the next book, maybe because I know at least one season will be one book and will be a complete work, unlike the next book which is not finishing the series.

The casting for Jaime had me unconvinced until I saw a fan video with all of the actor's roles and I saw pieces of Jamie in it.

I have to confess that I haven't gotten further than the first book. I just...couldn't do the second right after...then life happened.

I understand completely. I'm really at a point where I'm not going to continue until the series is finished because I get so irritated when I read a book and then things are not finished and I have to wait years for another book. It's just so frustrating.

Oh, and I have to say...I'm bummed about the casting for Cersei. Lena Headey just...doesn't do it for me, and I just can't wrap my head around her for Cersei. I know Nicole Kidman is too old, but that's sorta the type of woman I have in my head for the role.

I'm really going to have to see her in the role. For me, Headey just possesses a warmth about her that Cersei doesn't, I did see more of a Nicole Kidman type in that role. I actually suck at remembering actors' names so I can't think of anyone really current. The only casting I really see is the Ned role.
