Thursday is one of my favorite nights for comedy.

Community was solid. Jeff softened up a bit and realized he was selling himself short when it came to relationships. I really want to believe that the prostitute with Chevy Chase was Sharon Lawrence, but either way, I'm so glad the show didn't make a mockery out of her. She gave Jeff the true advice that he could do better and he was truly sincere when he said it was nice meeting her. Maybe this is setting up the Jeff/Brita angle but I would kind of love it if it were a fake out and Jeff/Annie happened. I'm just saying.

But really, the best part (besides the comedy of the STD fair and the groovy type and Annie's speech pro Repression!) was the BFFness of Abed and Troy. Abed letting Troy win and Troy knowing it and acknowledging Abed was the better athlete when it was time--complete win. The best part was Abed tucking Troy in--I just about melted. So sweet! So soon-to-be-married! I kind of need fic now.

I'm almost a little peeved that this show isn't getting more props for being a good comedy. It is a good show, but this has been a good year for new tv, especially the comedies.

Parks and Rec was funny. It has this low key amount of humor for me that usually makes me grin but hardly laugh out loud.

The Office -- alright, I'm not a regular fan of the show. I could probably count on one hand the number of episodes I've seen, the only reason I watched this one was because the preview made me intrigued. I've got dark humor, I know this, it's something I keep in check because usually what I find hilarious, other people find unbearable. That being said, here is my take on last night's ep:

The idea of someone promising a group of kids full college tuition and then saying 'aww shucks' when it was time to pay up is horrifying; and the show didn't really ease up on it. Stanley's laugh of complete joy at Michael's screwup was a good cue for the audience to laugh and his new assistant/secretary (umm, I don't know her name really) lightened up the atmosphere. When the kids were dancing and singing and the teacher saying 'Thank You' so much, the look of impending doom made watching the scene so uncomfortable.

Then when Michael said 'Know what else is important? Intuition. Do any of you know what that is? Anyone has an idea what's going to happen next?' I laughed and covered my face. It was horrible but the actors sold the scene.

I had hoped for a last minute save but when Michael talked about really thinking he would be in a better situation and able to fulfill his promise, I knew it wasn't coming. Empty promises killing real dreams. Pure tragedy.

Oh and the Jim-Dwight subplot was okay but since I'm not actually invested in this show, I most likely won't be watching next week.

IASIP was okay. I may have to watch it again to laugh, I wasn't feeling my best so I didn't laugh too hard.

What did you guys watch?
