day 01 | a song
Help I'm Alive - Metric I downloaded this album a while ago but never got around to listening to it and then I was going through a playlist of songs I hadn't heard yet and fell upon this one. Love the simplicity of the lyrics and Emily Haines' delivery.

day 02 | a picture
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
I came across this picture today while going through my google feeds and I really didn't know how to react. The other pictures from the shoot were better to me, I picked this one out to wonder if anyone else thinks she looks like the emo-version of Peter Parker in Spiderman 3?

day 03 | a book/ebook/fanfic
Alright, normally I'd be all about the fic but I've got this book rummaging around in my head. Also, I don't think I could just link to one fic, so perhaps it's time for a list at some point. The book is Written on the Body by Jeanette Winterson and I've got passages from it popping up sometimes at night. I picked it up at the library last week and read a chunk of it while leaning against the bookshelf, then I put it down for a week and started it again earlier tonight. Winterson describes an affair so vividly, the emotion is a physical presence in the room. No book is for everyone but here is an excerpt:

Yes we are and I do like to pass the day with you in serious and inconsequential chatter. I wouldn't mind washing up beside you, dusting beside you, reading the back half of the paper while you read the front. We are friends and I would miss you, do miss you and think of you very often....You never give away your heart; you lend it from time to time. If it were not so how could we take it back without asking?

day 04 | a site
Jezebel -- a decent sight for snappy commentary on issues, fashion, pop culture, etc. I really enjoy the Mad Men recaps.
Gizmodo -- Cool updates on upcoming tech. I like to window shop via computer, ok.
Monkeysee -- Love this blog's commentary on different pop culture stuff. Also served a nice piece of WTF to NBC with the Southland cancellation.
Alice and Kev -- really touching Sims3 story. It made me want to play the game more.
I Wrote this for you -- I kind of adore the writing and pictures of this blog. One of my favorite posts was actually the April Fools' one, but that's just me.
Online Fandom -- good discussion on different kinds of fandom. Sporadic posting though.
