Posting about One Thing

It's been some days since I last posted, and though I have been online (wishfulclicking on AIM); but I just missed you guys.

bandombigbang is back! Guys, I lack the words to convey the level of my excitement! People should sign up, that's all I'm saying. You could write....mix....art. I signed up for mixing (which you guys know I've been hype about for months, because I am a dork) and I signed up for writing (send me positive thoughts....is there a support group?).

So some thoughts on bbb :)

* It's different now that I'm actually active in the fandom. I didn't make this journal until April of 08 (I think) and I just found bigbang through someone's post and then I searched for it and I just knew I wanted to be around when it started. I signed up to mix because that was all I felt even comfortable attempting, and even then I was so nervous that the author would hate my mix and try to act nice about it. Now, I actually have people on my f-list and they're talking about summaries, so now I can actually guess who wrote what.

*Still way excited for mixing. I don't know guys, there's something about intensely reading a story and matching a perfect song for it. I just love it. I create mixes for stories that don't even exist. I know that I'm going to try and find a story that I have music for. Yes, I am listening to music that I don't usually or albums that got lost in the shuffle, so I can have a good mix.

*Is it just me, or are there more participants? It just seems like there are so many more people, and I'm super excited for that. Think of all the fic! The Art! The music!

*Bandom is way huge! Sometimes I forget that bandom casts such a wide net; but hearing people's story ideas, I remember and I get so excited for that. I'm looking forward to a variety of fic. (This is me expecting a Dresden Doll fic. That's all I'm saying. )

American Idol was okay to me. It doesn't seem that different, and the new judge is a good addition.

I'm feeling very musically stale, so I don't think I'll be able to mix again this time, but I actually squealed when I saw that signups had started.

I am hoping for some seriously epic Brendon/Shane. Or Brendon/Jon, been craving that lately too.

I'm listening to new stuff now and some old stuff that I haven't listened to in a while to prep for the mixing part.

I want some action fic and maybe some sci-fi. I kind of want it all because I also want some comedy and romantic stuff. (I'm still banking on a Jon/Spencer epic) I'm hoping for some thing really different that just surprises me.

I hope there are some more really amazing AUs, cause there was a glorious abundance last year. They made me so happy.

You know what I want/need in epic form, but for some reason it has yet to be done? The Nate story... him being all taken in by Gabe, living in the basement... I feel like that could be really awesome, and wouldn't have to be ridiculous to achieve that Awesome. I would read the crap out of that story. (especially if it turned out to be Gabe/Nate at the very end, oh wow the pining that could occur!)

Even though I'm kind of worried about what I'm doing, I'm still totally psyched to see the results. I wasn't really involved with bbb last year (the stories came at a really bad time for me [I still have some I want to read!] and there was not NEARLY the amount of hype last year, either) but it just feels like this huge group thing now. :D

I saw that you mixed last year! I'm excited to see what you come out with. :D

(And yes! There is totally more participants! I actually went back to last year and checked. xD But out of two hundred something people who signed up for bbb only ~70 posted stories, so that might not necessarily mean there's a much higher posted turn out. But, really, 70 is still a huge amount of epic stories.)

There are still some I want to read too, my laptop just died out on me towards the middle of bigbang, so. It was a whole new thing last year, now people know about it and there is HYPE--LOVE IT!!

Thanks :) I am kind of more excited to pick the story I'm going to mix a little than writing, or more like, I am in control of the writing, while I have to pick the story to mix for.

Even if some don't finish in time, there should still be more fic, hopefully.

Yeah, yeah, I know what you mean. I can't wait to find a story that I just get imagery for, and even though I know it won't come out exactly like I imagine it, it's still... *flails hands*

Mmhmm! I'm not really anticipating finishing (awesome if I do, though), but I'm still excited to see what kinds of amazing, long fics come out of this.

(Yeah, there is. I'll probably post about them soon, when I can get some semi-coherent thoughts and have a little niche of time-- I'm stuck in the middle of mid-terms ): . I'm kind of hoping for a snow day tomorrow, so I can take a break and settle down a bit. I think you should post about your ideas too-- I'd love to see what you're going to be writing about.)
