For prosperity: The Magicians
Nov. 12th, 2009 05:24 pmCurrently reading Lev Grossman's The Magicians and while it's not that exciting, the part I'm in has hit a good spot. This exchange made me laugh:
"So I'm a little worried about your parents," Quentin said that afternoon. "I think they might be completely insane."
...
"Are they?"
"Alice, I think you know they're kind of weird."
"I guess. I mean, I hate them, but they're my parents. I don't see them as insane, I see them as sane people who deliberately act like this to torture me. When you say they're mentally ill, you're just letting the off the hook. You're helping them elude prosecution."
