It is still a struggle for me as well, and this is a lesson I've started having to learn after Heroes fell off and I stayed until the bitter end, even though I hated about 80% of everything and this had been a growing feeling that I ignored or swore would get better. This was before I used to even read show creators' interviews.
It's even rougher for me with movies because it's only like 2 hours and it could get better but I have such an extensive list of things to watch that I am trying to feel better about dropping films just to get to the ones I really do want to watch.
I do hope you get better with your completist struggles.
