Recs: Trying to still my hand, but
Oct. 25th, 2008 10:32 pmOkay so I was going to wait and post a giant list of stories I've enjoyed during my 'hiatus' (and I am still going to do that) but this story forced me to rec--they are just that great.
Alarm Clocks Fell On Their Heads by
simplemitosis
Rating: R
Word Count: approx. 1000
Pairing: Brendon/Spencer
This is a beatnik au and it's gorgeous. If you have read simplemitosis's fic before then you know how excellent she is, but if you haven't, then you are missing out. The main pairing here is Brendon/Spencer and their relationship is just conveyed in beautiful ways.
Excerpt:
Brendon on stage is this blur, this long streak in Spencer's mind of words that barely make sense, laced together words like, Jesus got mad at an apricot tree, and surprised laughter runs through the haphazardly pieced together crowd. He paints, he sketches this portrait with his easy words, and if they weren't written on his hands and forearms you would think his sentences were just falling out of him like he's too full of the English language to swallow anymore.
