First of all: This prompt was brought to you by my getting into a fandom with aliens for what seems like the first time. I was trying to write one particular kind of alien and just had so much trouble with it, it was odd. Especially since the other kinds didn't confuse me as much. It really got me thinking about writing something, you know, alien. It doesn't help that I've read quite a few rants on how people get that aspect wrong and humanize the character.
I totally didn't expect the secong part of your post, but I am in love with it. There are so many vampire!AUs and stuff, we need more Actually An Alien fics.
