What? No Meme?

This is not a meme--hold in your shock-- I just finished doing all the memes I had been tagged to do and now back to the regularly scheduled posts.

FNMTV: What do you guys think of the show?
Perhaps I thought my slight affection for The Wentz would override my growing distaste for MTV as a misnamed channel (Music Television--Really?) But all I have come to discover is that I can only watch it if a certain artist is performing and then I just skip around until they get around to their performance. I find the video inserts with the haters/lovers sort of annoying sometimes. I remember when they used to run text on the bottom on a scroll. I really think that was better because I enjoy hearing the music from the video, not some persons attempt at snark or overindulgent praise for an artist. The only episode I have tried to watch is the Panic one and then I stumbled on the one with Duffy--that one was decent enough. FNMTV is still one of the better ideas that MTV has had because they seriously needed to show more videos--but I am just not that into it. (America's Best Dance Crew is another awesome idea ) I still prefer Fuse as a channel.

I don't want to turn this post into an essay/rant about MTV as a channel; but they just irk me on so many levels. The main offenders : My Super Sweet Sixteen or whatever that crap is called--it, like Cribs, was sort of cool at first and now it has overstayed its welcome; The Real World--no way, not anymore it's not. I remember when the Real World actually seemed populated with actual people and not shallow cardboard robots of lame. ( I know these people are real and I hope it is editing that makes them look so horrible...let me have that hope otherwise I might have to become a pessimistic puddle.) TRL-- the place where they play 15 second clips of video.

On to the more pleasant--

I am still getting through Bandom BigBang which was so awesome that I am still sort of in awe of it all. There a a few stories I need to read, and a ton that I have to review. I am going to make a post of some of my favorites though. Later.

If you guys did not go and read The Hound, the one with werewolf Joe Trohman, you guys are missing out. I need to read it again to see the final version but the one I read contained vast amounts of awesome too. About that second fanmix---so you know I made it a track by track download---but if anyone wants the full *zip file I can do that now. My laptop and I have come to a temporary truce at the moment.

GUESS WHO IS RECCING IN JULY FOR BANDOM RECS!!!--

I have put some thought into this--the amount will make you guys call me a dork--but I am certain of the following topics: There Will Be Gen or as I like to call it 'We Don't have to take our clothes off!' and yes I know that is entirely cheesy and a Jon/Spencer rec post of epically biblical proportions. I think I want to do a post of fic that is different. You know featuring fic with darker themes; but I don't know what I would call it maybe like 'Let me Creep You out'. That leaves the fourth Sunday and I am still sort of wavering on that one. I don't want to only feature PATD fics so I am certain that there will be some FOB and MCR. I'm not even sure what order I want these lists to go in.

I am honestly thinking about making my One True Fic/Character/Pairing post into an expanded version and posting it to bandom recs. Hmmm...I'm not sure yet.
Obviously I am spinning in circles on this thing.

Real Life Stuff---
My hair is a sentient being and is staging a rebellion in the form of frizz and ridiculousness. Apparently, I have been giving myself a haircut over the past two weeks. It is weird. I was clipping my ends every other week and then my hand slipped and took off inches and now my hair is in some half-bob that actually looks decent. I don't know. I am an idiot at times.

MAybe you should just do a epic rec list of Jon/Spencer fics and just post it here... and post it in one of the ficsearch sites as well (that seems strange but they have been very popular in the MCR site). Seriously...

And you seriously cut your own hair??? I'm jealous. How can you get it to look good, even if it is kinda by accident?

The hair cutting thing only happens because I have dumb luck. It was funny because I didn't even really notice because I usually just throw it in a ponytail; but then I wore it down and was like 'well...it seems I have lost a few inches there' and my mom was like 'stop touching scissors for at least a month!'.

Oh man the Rec thing is just tripping me up a little bit. I know I am going to put together a Jon/Spencer rec list because that was one of the first things I have ever wanted to do. It will be seriously long because I have a ton of links to it. I am seriously leaning towards your advice and just posting it to bandslashmania or something.

I really think I am going to compile the lists early because knowing my luck, my laptop will kill itself again right before it's time for my first post on bandomrecs and that would make me sad.

ha ha! I'd be too scared to pick up the scissors in the first place. So does that mean your going to put the scissors down for a bit or just keep doing it?

I am going to put down the scissors for a bit; I have managed to not cut anything for a week and a half now. I am pretty decent at keeping it even and I like making my own mistakes when it comes to my hair.

The list is coming. One time I tried making a list and I got distracted because I started reading the fic again.

And YAY! A list of Jon/Spencer goodness! Just, this time, try and pretty please wait till you made the list... Because then I can read them all too.

I don't know if I have read enough to make a Brendon/Spencer one yet. I am not sure if I missed all of the older stuff or people just recently started the Brendon/Spencer explosion and I am reading most of the current stuff.

This list might just be 'Great Stories that Feature Spencer getting good action' or maybe it should be a series that way I could cover multiple pairings. (Hmmm....)

The Spencer gets good action list--multiple pairings that shows Spencer's little black dress qualities in bandom, the list would include an abbreviated Jon/Spencer recs list ( which I could totally expand and post here and on bandslashmania)

A Deep Thoughts List -- featuring fic with a theme/issue that has extreme depth

Darker Themes is going to contain character death and violence. Also there will be some mind games going on.

Deep Thoughts is more fic that deals with issues in an effective manner. I'm envisioning stuff like gender identity, coming out, stuff like that.

Yesss, I neeeeed fic lists like burning. D: It feels like I am burning great holes in my 'need to read' list (which is lost at the moment ANYWAY, as my laptop is suicidal and offed itself AGAIN.), so yeah. :D

My laptop is suicidal too and I think it has a sadistic streak and wants to take me with it because it died for a bit right when Big Bang started and I promptly flipped out.

(So now I am going to have to compile a list, though I expect everyone to have read them before; but it's nice to have a one stop shop sometimes.)

I only stumble into being able to cut my own hair. If I had gone in with intent to cut I would look like a complete mess.

Man I could rant about MTV so much. Usually my friends are subjected to my verbal rants about the network. So I am trying to show some restraint.

I think it's awesome that you cut your own hair. I shouldn't actually say that as a trained hair stylist, but I've been cutting and colouring my own since way before I knew how. because the thing about it is, it's really really difficult to explain to someone else how you want your hair to look.

also; i completely agree with everything you've said about mtv and it's heinous tv shows. super sweet sixteen makes me homicidal.

MTV can send me into spirals of rage. That blurb/rant was me showing restraint so everyone doesn't think I'm some sort of raving maniac.

Hahahaha. MTV seriously can produce rage spirals. When I'm watching it I'll throw my shoes at the tv and everything. The worst was when Newlyweds used to be on like 200 times a day. At least there are arguably tolerable shows on now, like The Hills and stuff. Mixed in with all the diabolical stuff, to dilute the rage.
