First Thoughts on Fame Monster

Bad Romance continues to be my favorite right now, and I think it was a good choice for a lead single. I do miss the clapping that was in the video.

Alejandro is growing on me. It's so dramatic.

Monster-- okay, I would love a music video with different kinds of monsters in it, and Gaga dancing with a zombie!

Speechless -- I can't explain it but it reminds me of Bonnie McKee's Somebody just a bit. I like it.

Dance in the Dark -- I like the middle/end the best.

So Happy I Could Die -- it's good. I need to listen to it some more.

Telephone -- how much do I wish this was the latest video and not videophone? Is it too much to hope for a video for this too, kind of like a companion to Videophone?

Teeth -- Fighting with Bad Romance to be my favorite. It puts me in the mind of Ramalama Bang Bang, and if someone doesn't make a vid of Vampire Diaries to this, IDK if my fannish life will be complete.


Anyone else have thoughts on it?

I definitely can't get enough of Bad Romance...or the video. I swear I'd write my dissertation on Lady Gaga if i could figure it out.

If Alejandro is purposefully in that very 90s/Ace of Base style, I love that decision. If it wasn't purposeful, which I can't imagine that it wasn't, damn.

I think Speechless is my second favorite off the album. It reminds me of something, but I haven't put my finger on what they.

Overall, i'm enjoying the same thing and totally wishing I'd tried to get tickets earlier to see her in Detroit.

You totally nailed what Alejandro reminded me of; I'm kind of a sucker for the 90s and Ace of Base stuff--I think it may be all the music videos I consumed growing up.

That music video made me love the medium again. I really want to own it.

I like Speechless too. This entire album makes me want to see her live. Unfortunately I can't right now and it's probably all sold out. I hope she releases a live DVD. Or I find a stash of money somewhere so I can get tickets.

Alejandro is my second favorite (after Bad Romance) and while I like all of the others, so far (after maybe 3-4 listens) nothing else is really grabbing me like those two did.

This is my fifth listen,on most of the songs. I started listening to it in my car and got to half of Dance in the Dark. I don't know if it's just the state I'm in, but the faster songs are pulling me now. That may change by next week.
