Mornings are so productive

Dear Subway,

I believe I would have preferred to see Phelps hocking your subs than a chorus line of dancers.

Thanks,

Me

and this might be a very true line that I had to paste here so you guys could read it to--

Oh boy. One of the most funny-sad things about America is that you can hate women here, pay them less than men, try to enact laws on their bodies, use their breasts to sell beer and clothes – just do a bunch of really repugnant shit to them, basically – and mostly nobody is going to say a thing. But as soon as you're accused of hitting one of them, the whole nation's against you. America: Where we destroy womens' souls, not their bodies.

In America, it's possible to destroy both women's souls and their bodies. There's rarely enough evidence to convict a man of certain types of assault. I read somewhere that only 1% of rapists ever see the inside of a jail cell. Women are blamed and accused of crying wolf. Accused by other women. Personally, I was accused by a fellow rape survivor. Men can treat women like shit and they can get away with it. Even the stuff that is illegal to do.

Other than that part, I definitely agree with that quote and it makes me really angry.

I try to stay mellow but certain quotes come along and I just get angry.

Yeah. I'm not normally an angry person, but I saw another post about abuse and that just made me so angry. Not because I disagreed with the poster, but because I have personal experience with abuse and assault. And the acceptance of way women are treated in America makes stuff like abuse and assault more common.

Abuse is getting talked about a lot recently, mostly because of that thing with Chris Brown and Rihanna. So much of the commentary makes me go o___O and just click off.
