I don't want LJ to shut down either; I'm just getting used to it.

Hmmm....I don't have a ton of material here, so I'm just copying and pasting some of my fav entries; but I know some people are using ljarchive to backup their entire journal. I haven't used it but others have and they say it worked. (It only worked for Windows though)

It wouldn't hurt to back it up though, just to be prepared. Any posts you really want to save.
